Mmmmm Hmmmm.

ONE YEAR L.A-NY-VERSARY!!

It's hard to believe it but, Monday this week, the 16th of November, was the 1 year anniversary of our big migration to the US of A. And boy oh boy, what a tumoltuous year it's been!
It really started almost 2 years ago now, when Alicia and I would email each other from work every day with our big plans and dreams of what we were going to do when we arrived in LA! At the time, it was the only thing that got us through the daily grind.
But being here and living and experincing it for real, has been a completely different and un-predictable experience.
From car accidents with police cars, to losing apartments and jobs, from meeting Brad and Angelina and going to some of the hottest parties in Hollywood to traveling the country in a tour bus for 3 months with a bunch of strangers, it's certainly been an action packed year.
And I couldn't have asked for a better introduction to the States.
We really have been really lucky though, in so many ways and I'm so grateful I made the bold move over here.
Getting a visa was the best thing I have ever done and I had always thought it would be so much harder than it was. Congratulations on your job Alicia, and to daring to move over to the unknown West Coast. I'm so incredibly proud of you and grateful that you made the move to LA with me and that we got to spend such an incredible 8 months together.
Sisters for life.
Dreams can become your reality, the only thing in your way is you.
Here's to the next 12 months!
May they be even more crazy, hilarious, scary, exciting, beautiful and adventurous!

SEIZE THE DAY....

HELL-O-WEEN IN NYC

WOW... Halloween in New York is like a jungle of apes on crack... The weirdest, craziest freaks come out to play whilst Lady Gaga, M.J and Kate + 8 brush past you!

I went to an awesome party thrown by Hornitos-and The Smile in this warehouse space in Manhattan. There was a costume competition judged by the likes of Terry Richardson and Peaches Geldof and fab tunes which had us all dancing around like loco!

I went as an 80's vampire on prom night for lack of any original ideas.. Next year I'm upping the game... it's competitive in this town ;-)

My homeboy Bronques posted pics too...

CHANTILLY LACE COMES TO STAY...

One of my oldest friends came through the Big Apple with her hubby...

It was short but sweet and seeing her face really made me quite homesick for my family and friends back in Oz. You get so wrapped up in your new life that you forget you have an entire other one across the shores...

I wish I could give her another hug.. she is my soul sister.

I love you Chantal

TIME IS FLYING BY AND ALL I CAN DO IS SIGH...

I must apologize for the lack of posts... Time flies when you're having fun!

"IF YOU DON'T KNOW ME BY NOW......"

This is a shout out to my incredibly talented and amazing Australian photographer friend, Ross Laurence.
His blog is full of beautiful and unique images and is more than worth taking a little squiz at..
He comes from a background in modeling,
so he knows all about what it takes to make a good picture pop.

HOLLY-WEEN and THE JOB CATS.

Well, well, well..
Seems things have a strange way of working out in life and I have finally found myself a little job, 2 months later!
Who knew it would be harder to get a serving job that an acting gig in LA?!
I'm back to my second profession, bar tending at this super cute little Italiano place in Hollywood.
Great crew, awesome live music and beautiful, relaxed vibe. Loving it.
I also just celebrated my first Halloween in the US.
The date is pretty significant to me as it was this time last year that Alicia and I were meant to be over here but we had to wait for the Consulate to process my visa, well I had to wait, Alicia decided to do so with me.. Special lady that she is.. :)
It's a HUGE deal here and the costume shops are packed for the weeks before with people trawling around, trying to find that special, original outfit.
To be honest, it was all a bit much for me and in the end I gave up and opted for the easy option of a 70s hippie. Boring I know, but I was really just looking for an excuse to wear a brown wig (Mums been going on at me to dye my hair for weeks now, so this was my next best offer!).
Had a blast celebrating my friend, Jades big 21st and my first Halloween here, but I really found it all a bit over-rated and a lot like Sydney on New Years Eve.
Far too much of a build up over just another night out. Never a good idea to go to too many places and always a good idea to just go with the flow and not plan too far ahead.
On another note, I've just started acting classes again and am studying with Margie Haber Studios in West Hollywood.
I went there when I first got to LA and have been DYING to go back ever since. She's amazing. Her technique really resonates with me and her studios provide a place where the actor can feel safe and comfortable in a collaborative environment and I love, love, love that!
She's coached Brad Pitt, Halle Berry, Molly Sims and many other big name celebs so she definitely knows her shit.
All in all though, things are moving onwards and upwards for me and my journey in the big ol US of A.
Can't wait to see what's around the next corner.
Loving and living.
