So I guess yesterday in LA, there was a super private funeral for Adam Goldstein, who was found dead in his apartment last week of an apparent drug overdose. And yesterday afternoon they also held a memorial for him in Hollywood for him with an after party/wake in his tribute.
Alicia and I had the priviledge of being on his final tour with him for Bacardi over the Summer this year in the US.
Hearing the news was particularly shocking this time as we had seen how much of a truly amazingly talented DJ he was and we had spent 3 months on the road watching him play and seeing how popular he was.
As one of his DJ buddies said to me last night, he was a role model for so many kids and he didn't just work on getting himself to the top, he took those kids with him. He will be missed my many. He was the most successful DJ in America. Just goes to show how special life is, how much we can't take anything for granted and how little we really know about one another. If your friends are having a bad day or they are a little short with you and you think it has something to do with you, chances are they have other things on their mind they are not telling you. I guess sometimes all it takes is for us to ask and just to think more about others. Cherish your life and friends and have a wonderful day.
