WIGGIN' OUT on XMAS DAY IN LA

Merry Christmas!
This week has been nuts for me. I got a new part time job working with a top Hollywood Executive Producer, as her PA. I was pretty much in charge of organizing her Xmas Eve party, so that had me run off my feet until the early hours of Xmas morning.
Then the next day, my friends, Tree and Johnny, had rented out a super cute little bungalow at Venice Beach and were throwing an orphans Christmas.
They provided the outdoor seating and space and it was up to everyone else to bring a plate, a bottle and a wig of some sort! The sun went down as we were playing games like pinatas, boche ball and jenga. Then we sat by the fire and played charades, although looking back on it now, I'm not sure how much sense we were all making but I had a blast!
When Dan and I decided to head home, we had no idea that we were going to spend the next hour and a half sitting in a carpark waiting for a tow truck!
Yep, my little car was feeling neglected and decided to give me a little holiday gift and break down. So, I had to get it towed on Christmas Night!
Just my luck. Oh well.. pretty funny in hindsight.
Anyone that knows me, knows I am a slow learner when it comes to cars and I only really started driving this past year.
This is my first car at 25.
Apart from that though, I really had a great day and since I couldn't make it home to Sydney this year, this is definitely the only other way I wanted to spend my holiday.
Missed you lots this year Moo. We will see each other in the New Year though! Watch out Coachella..
Sending love to everyone.

SPEAKING OF TALENTED FRIENDS..

Over the few months that I've lived in my apartment in Hollywood, I've met some pretty amazing people. The building is full of designers, actors and artists.
Lelia Broussard is one of them and she's also my neighbour and an amazing friend.
This is her Xmas track that she wrote with her friend, Jake. She's in NY at the moment, recording her new album. She sounds a lot like Ingrid Michealson but has her own, unique and beautiful sound.
Love her lots and hope you do too!

And another clip.

Ah.. so amazingly talented.
Definitely a star.

I HEART SCARLETT... YOU SHOULD TOO...

So my AMAZE roomie Scarlett is such a sweet artist... she does ink and water colors, charcoals, acrylic, commissions and original works.

If you haven't added her on Facebook then you've been living under a rock...

Get to it and get face stalking!

P.S- A collection of her artwork is now hanging @ Phoebe's Cafe on Graham Av in Williamsburg if you want to eat while staring at her masterpieces ;-)

INSPIRE ME PRETTY LADY....

MY LIFE MOTTO...

I GOT SKILLS TO PAY THE BILLS...

I have been super busy with work for TOPSHOP this month. We have had tons of holiday events going on instore and around the city including the Black Friday Breakfast (we provided breakfast for 300 peeps instore), TOPSHOP Tour Bus (a TOPSHOP branded truck we had made which will be touring the Tri state area in 2010), a month of gift wrapping and the Dressing Room (an instore pampering boudoir).

I have had so much fun planning, managing and executing all these projects and look forward to all the crazy parties, festivals and Jelly projects in 2010.

Sending love to my Jelly family and my numero uno client TOPSHOP!

SPANKSGIVING... IN NYC

Mima and I have obv's been a little too busy to post but I promise I'll try update more like she said she would :-)

So.. it's so crazy to think we spent Thanksgiving together over a year ago in L.A... we had just arrived not knowing what was in store for us and spent it with a crew of homeless Aussies like we were... Funny thing is I did much the same this year... Just across the continent.

The lovely Maria had a group of us expats over for a super duper Thanksgiving spread cooked by an American to ensure we got the real deal... we played the funniest Sex Games (board games!) and got quite silly... it was definitely a memorable day/night and we were definitely giving alot of thanks haha! Wow.. if only I could go into detail!

THE WORLD WIDE WEB.

It's been a busy month, with work and preparing for the holidays, I've forgotten to post regularly on this site so I apologize for that, first of all.
Yet I have managed to find time to discover new and exciting blogs and sites that have been inspiring me a lot lately.
Funny that!
It's still amazes me, the amount of information that's available at your fingertips on the internet. One of my favorite new sites for actors is written by LA casting director, Bonnie Gillespie.
Her insight and knowledge on the business in this town is priceless and there's a ton of amazingly insightful stuff if you have time to search through the archives and read her past posts too.
She was recently in Sydney, giving talks to other actors on the industry in LA and I think she really hit the nail on the head with her opinions on the Aussie industry and the way we feel towards actors making the 'big' move to Hollywood.
Here's a link to her site..
Enjoy!

And she picked my email for her top three! Check out the 'Your Turn' section.
